Table rules & every payout
This is American double-zero roulette: 38 equally likely pockets, 0, 00 and 1–36. Place any combination of offered bets before spinning. Tapping the same position stacks chips; all winning bets settle independently.
| Bet | Numbers | Profit |
|---|---|---|
| Straight | 1/38 | 35:1 |
| Split | 2/38 | 17:1 |
| Street / trio | 3/38 | 11:1 |
| Corner | 4/38 | 8:1 |
| Top line | 5/38 | 6:1 |
| Six-line | 6/38 | 5:1 |
| Column / dozen | 12/38 | 2:1 |
| Red / black / odd / even / low / high | 18/38 | 1:1 |
Place a split on a shared line, a four-number corner where four boxes meet, a street on the outer edge of a row, or a six-line at the outer corner of two rows. Dozens cover 1–12, 13–24 or 25–36; columns cover every third number.
Zero splits are 0/00, 0/1, 0/2, 00/2 and 00/3. Trios are 0/1/2, 0/00/2 and 00/2/3. The five-number top line covers 0, 00, 1, 2 and 3 and pays 6:1 profit.
Both 0 and 00 lose the entire wager on red/black, odd/even, low/high, columns and dozens. Ordinary bets have a 5.26% house edge (2/38); the top line has a 7.89% edge (3/38). This table has no half-back, la partage or en prison rule. Combining bets does not remove the house edge, and previous results do not make a number due.
Undo removes the most recent chip placement. Remove clears one whole wager. Repeat is available only on an empty table with enough chips. Practice chips reset when you leave the game.
Placement and payouts follow the standard bets in New Jersey’s roulette rules, sections 5.1–5.2. The wheel specification gives the American pocket order. The full-loss rule on both zeros is stated above.
About Roulette
Made by Malav Joshi. A place to practise and understand the decisions behind the game.
Can several roulette bets win on the same spin?
Yes. If you cover 17 with a straight bet and also bet on black, both win when 17 lands. Every wager is settled separately, then combined. Your round’s net result is the total returned minus everything you staked, including losing bets.
How do I cover four, six or twelve numbers?
For four numbers, place a chip at the corner shared by four numbered boxes. For six, use the outer-edge marker between two rows of three. For twelve, select a dozen or a column. Hover or focus first to see exactly which numbers are covered; the bet picker offers the same inside combinations with larger controls.
How do 0 and 00 change the odds?
American roulette has 38 equally likely pockets. Ordinary bets have an expected loss of 2/38 of the stake, about 5.26%. The five-number top line covers 0, 00, 1, 2 and 3, pays 6:1 profit, and has a higher 7.89% house edge. Both zeros lose the full wager on outside bets here; no half-back, la partage or en prison rule applies.
Do past spins help predict the next number?
No. Each spin is independent. A run of red numbers does not make black more likely next time. Combining wagers changes which results you cover and how uneven the payouts are; it does not remove the house edge. There are no real-money stakes or purchases here.
