A LITTLE MORE UNDERSTANDING

About Decision Room

Made by Malav Joshi. A place to practise and understand the decisions behind the game.

Do I need another player?

No. You make decisions for one business or team. The other side responds automatically. Choose an option, read what happened, then make a second decision with that response in mind. There is no timer or score to beat.

How does the other side respond?

It chooses whichever option gives it the better result after your move. If both options are equal, it keeps its current choice. This simple rule illustrates incentives; real people do not always behave this way.

What does this teach about game theory?

Your result depends on other people’s incentives as well as your own choices. The situations explore a price war, coordination between teams, and competing launch dates. Each result includes an optional plain-English explanation of Nash equilibrium.

Are the businesses and figures real?

No. These are fictional situations with illustrative figures, designed to make the tradeoffs visible. They are not forecasts or claims about real companies.
